Laboratory Manual: Organic Synthesis Techniques

This practical laboratory manual provides clear, safety-conscious procedures for over forty classic and modern organic synthesis experiments. Written for undergraduate chemistry students, it guides learners through each stage of experimental work — from reagent preparation to product characterisation. Experiments are graded by difficulty and include learning objectives, safety precautions, pre-lab exercises, and data interpretation questions. Selected procedures focus on the synthesis of compounds with biomedical or agrochemical relevance. The manual is aligned with the organic chemistry curriculum of Nigerian Defence Academy and has been successfully used in laboratory courses since 2016.
